Museums:

We regularly take group trips to some of the many and varied exhibitions and museums to be found in the tri-state area, where we refine our drawing and painting skills as well as our historical and theoretical understanding.

A recent museum trip was to the Philadelphia Museum of Art to view Degas and the Dance, a stunning exhibit of 150 works in all media by Degas.

Other past museum trips have included:

Space for museum trips is limited, so reserve your spot as soon as possible!

Gallery:

Our gallery is primarily devoted to artwork done by our students. We are able to show approximately twenty-five pieces at once, depending upon size. A reception marks the beginning of each new exhibition with friends, family, fellow-students, and community members present. Visitors have ample opportunity to discuss the works with the artist both formally and informally, an enlivening experience not often afforded to viewers. Exhibitions last approximately one month.

Past exhibitions have included:

  • Nancy Schwam, Recent Watercolors by "Sun"
  • Jill Caporlingua, Water Works
  • Janie Thompson-Lide and children, Art Related
  • Sharon Sayegh, Intimate Encounters
  • Josh Neese-Todd, Sub-Urbanization and Its Discontents, Photography and Film

Stay tuned for upcoming lectures…

Clinics:

Academy Students at Lakeside Clinic Each fall we sponsor a one-day outdoor drawing and painting clinic at a lovely lake in North Jersey. We draw on the natural beauty of the location to create a wonderful range of works. An enlightening peer-to-peer critique concludes the day.
